Solider

Through the midst I see a brave wounded solider.

Holds a gun in one hand and a knife in a holder.

Spends his nights with his hand holding a trigger.

Fingers on a clutch wondering if its worth his time.

Fighting a war that at times that seems like a crime.

His stone cold eyes forever searching the foggy night.

He has seen so many die out there on that bloody field.

Purple heart on his chest shows he still there.

He feels like a prisoner held in by chains of fear.

Will the mist that covers the dark ever be gone?

Scars still there to forever taunt his dark fears.

Would do they mock him for being so afraid?

O solider, don't you see the battle is now done?

The victory is now ours the battle is officially won.

Don't you see that your wounds show your bravery?

You no longer have to hide in the cold night anymore.

You can come out and see what life has still in store.

Strange People...

Issues:
Police, including SWAT officers, were called to an apartment in Mesa, Ariz., in June after neighbors reported a fight between a man and woman that included yelling and breaking things inside. When they arrived, they found only a 21-year-old man, conducting the fight by himself, alternating a high-pitched voice with a low-pitched one. He was referred for a medical exam. Failure to Communicate: The man who tried to rob the Cafe Treo in Salt Lake City in April likely told the employee to "fill" the bag, but when the employee reached over and earnestly started to "feel" the bag (according to police), the robber said, "You've gotta be kidding me" and ran out of the store. Dow closes up more than 450!!!!

read this...

Bankruptcy, not bailout, is the right answer

3 largest point gains in the history of the dow... proof that the markets can and will take care of themselves.

1March 16, 200010,630.6499.19
2July 24, 20028,191.29488.95
3Sept. 30, 200810,850.66485.21

But do not be fooled, the market is only beginning to correct itself.

The stock market did NOT crash

Stocks plunge as financial bailout plan fails in House vote; Dow falls 777 points.... but it was the 17th biggest percentage decline for the Dow and remains well below the more than 20 percent drops seen on Black Monday of October 1987 and the Depression.

This hurts but this market is only correcting itself. It is necessary for the markets to restructure to avoid a crash. $700B cannot fix the bubble in the market, it only blows the bubble bigger... and it will burst sometime, better now than when its bigger. The biggest problem is still going to be the value of the US dollar.

The fact that the House shot down the bailout plan tells me that the people still have a voice even if it is faint... But we will see a variant of this bill again soon.

Something to laugh at.....

Failing US Dollar

Well it looks like this 700+ Billion dollar bailout will happen regardless of what taxpayers think of it. One of the biggest consequences of this will be the falling of the US Dollar as we borrow and print money as fast as we can. And investers will see the dollar weaken and the stock market will fall anyways. This bailout will preserve society as we know it for days. And then there will be change.

But these are modern times, crashes and depressions are things of the past.... right?

NO BAILOUT!!!!!

The last time the executive branch warned of horrible consequences and rushed legislation through Congress we got the Patriot Act, which to this day threatens our civil liberties on an unprecedented scale.

The easy way out is to continue the same practices that got us to this point. We can put $700 billion, for starters, in the hands of Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson (a former CEO of Goldman Sachs) and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, and let them spend the money on whatever they wish.

This option will only delay the economic downturn, which will only be worsened. It has already been delayed far too long, and we are all going to see some form of hardship because of it. Don't make it worse.

We must end the federal government's interference in the marketplace and truly embrace free market capitalism. A company that makes a bad investment must pay for it. And any person that spends more than he/she can afford must also pay. NO BAILOUTS for anyone.

The federal government is trying to scare us into accepting more tyranny. Don't fall for it.

Contact your Reps and tell them no bailouts.

Think Twice About Defending Your Parking Spot....

A woman parking her car in Athens, Ga., in July, opened the door to tell another driver
that she was not leaving her space when she fell out and was run over.

Watch where you eat...

Everyone knows there are restaurants that are not up to code and all, but this is a little to close to home. Now I really wonder what the clumps of hair were from in my chicken when I was at City buffet in Hanover... actually I don't wanna know.

The Panda Chinese Restaurant in York, Pa., was already in trouble in an early June city sanitation inspection, with demerits piling up because of accumulated grease, insects in the seating area and rotting lettuce, according to a York Daily Record report. Then, in the middle of an inspector's visit, he came upon a live snapping turtle in the restaurant's main sink. Said the inspector, "I had to sit down and gather myself before I could speak." The manager said he had seen the turtle outside and had brought it in for safety: "It was wrong that we put it in the sink." [York Daily Record, 6-11-08]

As if the world wasn't messed up enough......

Are our cops just not finding enough criminals???
